Sidetracks Art Gallery co-owners Ricky Godinez and Paul Murphy are pleased to announce the 2015 Artist Awards for the 9th Annual "Naked in New Hope" exhibit.
Best in Show honors have been awarded for the second year in a row to painter David Schulz of Middletown, Connecticut, this year for his pencil on paper “One Piece Suit.” Five Honorable Mention awards were bestowed on: Raymond Brown of Wilmington, Delaware, for his Oil on Canvas "2 Nudes"; Dan Comisky of New Town, Pennsylvanie, for his wood sculpture, “Spice Rack”; Patrick Connors of Philadelphia, Pennsyania, for his oil on linen, “Five Rowers, Study”; James Green of Flourtown, Pennsylvania, for his oil on linen canvas, “Beach Party”; and Tai Lin of Linden, New Jersey, for his white pastel on paper, “Untiteled, #4.”
The local Jury Panel for the above awards included Jeffrey Meier, Owner of Jeffrey Meier Gallery; collage artist Leah K. Tomaino, professor at Centenary College in Hackettstown, NJ, CCM in Randolph, NJ and Artworks Studio in Randolph, NJ; and Michael Wiley, 3-Dimensional Artist.
Sidetracks Awards were given to: Judy Tobie of Princeton, Pennsylvania, for her silkscreen, collage on textile, "Surfacing"; Krzysztof Bratun of Landsdowne, Pennsylvania for his pencil and charcoal drawing "Body." The first annual Gramercy Award was awarded to Gay Malin of Delmar, New York for her wood and mixed media sculpture "Man and Woman." Alexei Biryukoff of East Vandergrift, Pennsylvania received the second annual Malachy Award for his oil on canvas "An Old Man With A Drink." Lambertville, New Jersey’s Adam Capone’s mixed media hanging sculpture was awarded the fifth annual Robin Larsen Award, named for the late founder and original guiding spirit of New Hope Arts. The third annual Norma Holt Award was bestowed on Rich Grote of Doylestown, Pennsylvania, for his cleverly conceived artist photo.
